Paris-Roubaix men's 2026: Van Aert beats Pogačar in two-up sprint

The fan-favourite Belgian wins a cobbled Monument after years of trying

Wout van Aert (Visma-Lease a Bike) sealed an emotional victory at Paris-Roubaix after a long battle with Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates-XRG) over the cobbles of northern France. Jasper Stuyven (Soudal Quick-Step) rounded out the podium after a late attack.

Today was all about the first two. Pogačar was chasing history, trying to become the first rider ever to hold all five Monument titles at once. The world champion rode in a typically aggressive fashion, but was unable to drop Van Aert, who himself put in a gutsy performance to win his first Monument since Milan-Sanremo in 2020.
